Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

Banking Department

· input into the assessment of the medium term resource framework

· issue identification and preparation of initial budget framework proposals for the First Vice President of Banking

· input into the annual Business Plan and Budget

· definition and assessment of key parameters for Banking department appraisal process

· enhancement of reporting solutions, liaising with IT (staffing and expenditure issues)

· liaison with HR client management on staffing issues for Banking teams

· monitoring staff numbers against agreed ceilings and tracking of agreements

· co-ordinate production of staffing section of monthly reporting to Banking management

· work on the annual budget process, active monitoring of budget execution, and reviewing directly with business groups as necessary; and resolution of budget issues .

· analysing productivity across Banking teams and making proposals for discussion with senior management.

· ensuring continuing relevance of cost recovery procedures

· setting out recovery targets by business group, monitoring performance, and resolution of issues

· design and enhancement of resource management reports for delivery to Banking senior management

· taking lead in detailed budget analysis as part of annual top down budget process, mid-year review and on an ad hoc basis

· assisting in more in depth analysis of specific resource utilisation issues relating to the Banking department

· liaison with senior Banking budget officers and HR staff

Other tasks

Systems support:

· assisting and providing backup to the Officer, Budgeting in systems maintenance and other work, including:

o maintenance of organisational units and positions in SAP HR systems

o maintenance of cost centre and cost element group structures in SAP Controlling module

o monthly allocations of staff benefits and occupancy costs in SAP using automatic routines

o month end journals

Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications

· Three to five years’ experience in financial roles.

· A degree in a relevant discipline, e.g. Finance; Economics.

· Financial background and knowledge; part-qualified or ‘finalist’ individual studying for an accountancy or other financial qualification is preferred.

· Good accountancy knowledge.

· Strong knowledge of Excel and use in modelling.

· High computer literacy and practical experience of IT systems such as accounting packages and spreadsheet models would be an advantage.

· Negotiation skills and client management experience would be an advantage.

· Experience of working within a Banking environment is desirable.
