Millennium Bank launched a contest with significant prizes to promote its newly launched e-Account, the first current account in Romania whose opening does not require any visit to the bank, said the bank in a press release.

Inspired by e-Account’s main advantage, namely the clients’ possibility to benefit from banking products and services without having to leave their home or office, the contest awards the most ingenious ideas to perform indoors activities that, usually, require going out. The best movie/photo that illustrates such activities will be awarded with a Mini One car, a Vespa scooter, a BMW bicyle and, weekly, with 200 euros. More details and the contest official regulations are available on www.millenniumbank.ro, on the contest’s website, www.primul-e-cont.ro, as well as on Facebook.

This e-Account online interactive campaign started with a teasing phase, which announced the discovery of Homo Indooris, a new stage in human evolution, defined by people’s spending most of their time indoors and always having an electronic device at hand. The test on www.homoindooris.ro revealed that 86% of the visitors that answered the questionnaire are part of the sub-species Homo indooris peacasus, meaning they spend most of their time at home, while 9% of them are Homo indooris professionalis, spending most of their time at their office. Only 5% of the website visitors turned out to be Homo pafaristus, sub-species which spends more time outdoors.

“Millennium Bank offered a great innovative product to the local market and its communication ought to follow the same original values. By the help of our partners from Pukka online communication agency, we tried to creatively address the target audience – Homo Indooris species – considering all their habits, needs and lifestyle special features. Over 14,000 people visited our two weeks teasing website and almost 4,000 people checked if they are Homo Indooris representatives, by taking the special test. The contest and the prizes that can be won within our communication campaign reflect e-Account’s concept: they offer great value without any need for leaving one’s own place”, says Cristina Bold, Head of Corporate Communications, Millennium Bank.

Millennium Bank marked a premiere on the Romanian market, by launching e-Account, the current account that does not require any visit to the bank. e-Account package is free of charge and consists of a current account in RON, Visa Electron debit card, Internet Banking and Call Center services. The account can be opened by filling in an online application form and all the necessary communication between the bank and the clients is then made by phone and by courier. Clients receive by courier all the necessary paper and then give the signed contract back to the courier to be delivered to the bank.

e-Account benefits also include zero administration fee for the RON current account and for cash withdrawals at Millennium Bank ATMs, zero administration fee for the card in the first year of usage, free access and administration for Internet Banking and Call Center services.
